ITS HISTORY
In 1759 becomes a privilege of Villa and Fernando VI becomes independent of Casarrubios del Monte. At that time belonged to the Conde de Miranda and Casarrubios, general and lieutenant governor of one of the Peruvian provinces. Known as "The Indian", was the introducer of cultivation of olive trees and vineyards in this county.
At present this farming town focuses on the vine, being an important producer of wine under the PDO Méntrida.
It seems that the origin of the name of Valmojado can be based on the fact that the village is located at the foot of a broad valley rich in water.
WHAT TO DO
The main manifestations of artistic Valmojado are Mudejar, stressing the appropriateness of some houses neomudéjares of the late nineteenth century and early XX, as Aurora and Esperanza Villes.
The parish church of Saint Dominic Guzman of the nineteenth century is another of its architectural gems. Other interesting monuments are the source of Caño Indiano, composed of a basin and an old windmill surrounded by adobe and brick buildings. It is currently used for agricultural uses.
His Ethnological Museum is a good way to know and understand the culture and traditions of the town.
