Convent of Santa Clara la Real

The order received in 1369 the houses of mayor of the city to build their convent. It is the oldest monasteries in the city. Here professed daughters of Henry II of Castile, brother and successor by force of arms of Pedro I.
This led to a considerable expansion, joining through the shed of Santo Domingo with the houses across the street. The convent is articulated around two cloisters, called Orangery and the Laureles, leading to their stays.
The church is the fifteenth century and is composed of two rectangular craft, covered with wooden roofs, with flat head and rosettes in their brick TESTER. The main altarpiece in the presbytery of one of the ships built by Jorge Manuel Theotocópuli shaped elliptical, Luis Tristan (1623).
The tombstones of slate at the foot of the altar of the choir belong to the aforementioned infantry Castilla. There are plasterwork, tiles, altars and paintings from different eras. The door of the convent, hidden in the corner of the square, is the fourteenth century.
