Nothing, except the name, the original chapel was founded by the Franks who participated in the conquest of Toledo next to Alfonso VI. From the Mudejar chapel of the Order of Calatrava kept the apse. Following the expulsion of Jews the building was temporarily available to the nuns conception, which testifies a beautiful wooden roof, a Moorish alfarje with weapons of the founder of the order, Beatriz de Silva.
A few years later he occupied the Comendadoras Santiago, leaving for later the Gothic cloister yet, the pictorial decoration of the chapels of Bethlehem, the subject of excavations in search of the roots of Muslim city, and the church of Santiago, built with one ship by Anton Egas, decorated in baroque style in the seventeenth century. Alongside one of the covers are preserved remains of murals in front of the eighteenth century. The highlight of Santiago Matamoros hospital Baroque recalls that there was installed.
The package is subject to final restoration work for their integration into the Museum of Santa Cruz.
