Convent of Santa Isabel de los Reyes

The current monastery, founded in 1477 by Mrs. Mary Suarez of Toledo, known as "Sister Mary the Poor", has its origins in two different palaces, both of the fourteenth century Mudejar and the church of San Antolín. Inside the convent preserves abundant samples of Mudejar civilian.
We go to church convent, rebuilt during the reign of Charles I, through a home from time of the Catholic Monarchs (1500). IIt is Gothic style and is covered with coffered wood.
In the interior, we are a beautiful century altarpiece XVI en la nave de la epístola. XVI in the nave of the epistle. The main altarpiece is dated in 1572, is plateresque style and features beautiful Altorrelieve and a large number of carvings. At the foot was built the choir of nuns with a beautiful tiled plinth, a plateresque altarpiece and a chair, all of the sixteenth century. In the end there are four courtyards, the Orangery, los Laureles, Nursing and the Demandadera.
Restored in Very recently, in 2006, has recently been opened to the public, part of the building converted into a museum.
