Its location in the best viewpoint of Toledo is summarized in a few simple verses on the famous pottery craftsman talaverano Ruiz de Luna:
“[...] Although I see little
I'm very large as chapel,
because I live the queen
Toledo has at his feet [...]"
The feast is celebrated always on the first day of May and enjoys extraordinary popularity, the festival marking the start of the other parties Marian, but also a meal in the countryside, among the rocks around the Peña del Moro, as well as the Seasonal boat passage. During the festival was cut the ring road and is accessible only on foot or by one of the bridges, either crossing the river with the ship's passage and then climbing the Roman road.
The evening procession is the hardest to perform, by passing in a very rugged terrain with marked slopes.
Young people often spend the night in satin or in tents and girls who want to marry touch the bell of the chapel. |
