Old Bisagra Gate
|
| |
| To distinguish it from the New Bisagra Gate, also was named Alfonso VI. It retains, in large part, its primitive structure, the only entrance straight, reforming the thirteenth century in acodado, guarded by towers recias advanced style essentially Caliphate. In its external facade displays a curious horseshoe arch surrounded by alfiz, crossed by a lintel in the key and crowned with a relief Visigoth. The three arches and windows of the top are the fruit of that reform Mudejar which introduces ashlar masonry and brick on a rake and interior to prevent the passage of the enemy. |
